How to find a customer or a gift card

The gift card code is a string made with 16 to 19 characters (numbers or letters or a combination) visible on the gift card.

Search with the gift card ID (for E-gift cards only, not physical)

On the e-gift cards, the gift card ID is an integer visible on the pdf of the gift card with the mention “gift card ID” or sometimes “kitty ID”.

For security reasons, it s a better practice to ask the customer for the gift card ID than the code itself.

When you search with the gift card ID, we recommend to ask the customer to ask an additional information, in order to check consistency and avoid any fraud. For example, you can ask for the name of the purchaser and the amount of the gift card. You will be able to check those information by clicking on the link of the gift card to see the details.

if the customer didn’t receive his gift card

To retrieve the customer and his purchase, 3 information are required. The consistency between these 3 information allow to find out the right gift card while minimizing the risks of fraud.

If one or more information are missing, please ask your customer to give those information. A customer who is not enable to give sufficient information about his purchase is clearly suspicious. BuyBox will refuse to attend any suspicious request due to lack of information or inconsistent information.

Ask the customer (purchaser) the 3 information then proceed to the research. If one information is missing or erroneous (for example the date of purchase), no result will be returned.

The customer must provide exactly the same address he has provided when purchasing. If the customer has a doubt about the email address he used or if he thinks he may have done some mistake, it’s recommended to perform a research using the full name (see after).

The research with the names is not case sensitive but if one letter is erroneous, no result will be returned. It’s not an approximate research but an exact research.

The transaction is displayed at the confirmation page after the payment. It can be used also for a research.
