# The buyer wants his gift card life to be extended (e-cards and physical cards)

### First case: the gift card has not yet expired

In some cases, the beneficiary may think he won’t have enough time to redeem the gift card properly. If the gift card has not expired yet and if some credit is still available, you can extend the expiration date by a certain number of days. Click on the link « Extend Expiration Date » and choose the number of additional days you want.

### Second case: the gift card has already expired

If the gift card has already expired, it has then been blocked in the system, and a special operation has already been created for accountancy. Then **it’s not possible to undo this operation and go back.**

In this case, if you want to give a compensation to your customer, you may want to create a « free » gift card for him, with the face amount of the remaining amount.

Creating a free gift card requires special rights which are not granted to the standard customer service. If you don’t see « free gift cards » in the left menu. It means you don’t have this right.

Please ask to an administrator or a financial/marketing people to execute this operation
